The price is great, lifetime warranty is great
ZiggyFebruary 23, 2018
I'll start by saying that I was really excited to get this red dot. The price is great, lifetime warranty is great, and there are a TON of 5 star reviews. It was delivered promptly and I was impressed by the communication from the seller. It appears to be built well, and mounted up tightly on my AR. I knew for the price I wouldn't be getting premium quality, but initial impressions were positive.
Unfortunately, my experience upon turnindidn't meet the expectations I had based on reviews. When I first installed the battery, I noticed the reticle was slightly blurry and the light refracted within the lens. This created a red or green haze left of the reticle. I did my best to get it zeroed at 50 yards using a vice and laser boresight, but the reticle blur prevented me from getting it exact. I then tried to do the same at roughly 25 yards, figuring it would be more consistent. I was able to get it somewhat more precise and for the first magazine or so it was usable at this range.

We had a couple hundred rounds with us, so we then chewed through those, shooting metal targets and cans. However by then end of the 3rd magazine (90 rounds including the first 10 or so used to zero the sight twice) the reticle was drifting to the left.

I double checked the mounting hardware and rings, but everything was still tight, with zero play. The elevation and windage knobs hadn't moved observably either. Put the rifle back in the vice and sure enough, it was off by about 4 inches at 25 yards. Took it off and finished our range day using iron sights on that gun instead.
I'll get a few pictures when I get back home this evening and add them to the review. Can y'all please let me know if the reticle on yours looks the same way or has drifted after zeroing? It's not really usable to me as it is, and given the glowing reviews I'd hate to think this is how it's designed.
If the seller and I can find a resolution, I'll gladly reevaluate and update my review.

Completely aside front the optics, to the folks at Tacticon, thank you for your service. I have nothing but respect for the sacrifices you and others have made.
Perfect

Mounted this on a flat top AR15A2 and took it to the range. First of all, I have an astigmatism, and the red dots I tried looked like mini explosions and obscured the aim point. Even iron sights were a big blur. This is a prism scope, with the reticle etched on to the lens, which for me is crisp and clear. You have to adjust the focus ring, which is the back tube of the sight, with both eyes open, to get it to a true 1X magnification. The sight picture should be the same size when looking through the scope as it is when not looking through it. At the range, I was shooting low and to the left, but it adjusted easily with a slight turn of each knob. It does not have a positive "click" but it does hold true to your zero. I shot 75 more rounds and it didn't move. Easy to put on target, free standing or at rest, keeping both eyes open. I put a 3" group on paper at 25 yards, not even really trying hard. This is a big deal for me, being able to confidently aim my rifle again. Thank you very much
Don't be worried about the price/quality

I held off writing a review till I had time to take it out and put it to use. I have absolutely zero regrets about this purchase. It held true round after round I put through my Kriss Vector .45. Now I will say that at the end of my 2hr range extravaganza that the screws in the scope mount did loosen up quite a bit. When I got it home I put some blue loctite on them and took it back to the range and through another 2hr session. It held perfectly and maintained zero the entire time. If you have any concerns or hang ups about this scope put them to the side and buy it. For the money and quality it really can't be beat. Just go ahead and put loctite on the scope mount screws to be on the safe side and have fun.
Very nice unit.

This is a very well built red/green dot unit. It sits a little high on the rail for my Benjamin 392 pellet rifle, which causes me to have a slight strain in the neck by stretching upward; however I will point out that the mounting rings for my rifle sit a little tall on the rail, so the extra height may be the fault of the rings, not the sight. This will vary by the weapon used. I don't think you could go wrong with this sight, especially in light of the price: well worth the money. It has the look and feel of a much more expensive unit. I would have given it Five Stars but the windage and elevation screws don't seem to have a consistant "click" feel when adjusting them. I have been a state certified police firing range instructor for over 20 years, and recommend this red/green dot sight.
Great scope!

The scope arrived in a timely matter. The scope is pretty solid, and well made. Like one other customer stated, the threads are too fine for my liking to get a tight fit on the rail. No biggie just used a little bit of Loctite. We're having cold winter days, so it's going to be a wile before I try it out, and see how the loctite holds up and zeros in. I'll update at a later date.
As far as the lifetime warranty goes I was a little leery about doing it. When I was going to register my scope it wanted you to subscribe to something. So I emailed customer service, it's took a little while for them to respond, but they did, and explained. The email said,
" You're simply subscribing to the warranty. In other words, you're registering for the lifetime warranty. I hope that helps and thanks so much for the business!
Best Regards,
Jake"
So for the time being, I'll give the scope a 4 star rating until I try it out. I'll try to update this review a later date.
