Since I drive on highways often I finally decided to get a dashcam. I didn't need anything fancy, didn't want to spend a lot of money, and this was pretty well recommended. I'd say I recommend it too, with a few minor complaints.

Addressing the complaints first, they are: the blue light on the cigarette lighter charger is way too bright, the flashing green light on the dash cam itself is unnecessary and can be distracting if not hidden completely, the software is a little clunky, and the software's English is pretty broken. Also, with my Nexus 5X I have to disable my data to connect to the dashcam's WiFi. The first two issues can be covered up with tape, but you'll just have to get used to the rest which honestly aren't that major.

That said, the video is pretty good. It does offer a decent amount of options/settings once you get used to it and its language. The audio recording is sufficient, but doesn't seem to play back when watching clips through the software - but works perfectly fine once you transfer the video file to your phone or whatever. I was able to hide the cable along the trim so it's pretty well hidden.

Have had it for a little while now and it's still working just fine without any issues. I'll update later if there are any other developments with it.

I am a college student and I purchased this dashcam after a bad car accident. The other reviews said the setup and installation process was easy but I'll admit I had some difficulty. I feel the user manual could use more details and diagrams for the setup/installation process; I had to play around in order to figure out how the dashcam rotated, how to mount it to my windshield, how to install the sd card, and how to get the cam to record video. One specific thing that I would have liked the manual to have specifically stated is that the user would need to select "format sd card" in the app in order to get the cam to record video; it took me a while to figure this out. The provided car charger cable was too big for my Toyota Yaris' cigarette lighter--not a big problem for me as I am going to use the provided usb cable in my own dual usb car charger so that I can also charge my phone. The usb cable doesn't obstruct my view and is not unsightly. As for as sd card, I purchased the Amazon "frequently bought together" Samsung evo 64 GB microsd card and adapter. I watched a youtube video that explained how to set it up correctly. So far everything is working fine; video and sound quality meet my needs--can't read license plates. I have not used the cam at night yet but I assume it is the same quality. The phone app could use an update, I have to close and reopen the app frequently in order to connect to the wifi in the app. In addition, the video download speed is agonizingly slow but I suppose that is to be expected. One more minor thing, as mentioned in another review, the English grammar in both the manual and phone app could use some work. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase!

Update: the supplied 3m car dash mounts are not holding up in this 100 degree+ SC summer heat. I have went through 2 already. If I leave my car parked for an hour (or less) I expect to find the dash cam laying near my passenger seat. I will try a different mount and update again.

It's a decent camera. The biggest advantage is that it is really small, so it hides behind mirror without any problems.

However video quality of my camera seems worse than samples from internet, despite having quality/resolution settings on max. One I also had an issue when one minute from starting the car it would say "Recording stop" and just quit. I reformatted the memory card using computer and it was working fine ever since.

I also found a software online that makes the camera work with WiFi off by default. For me it seems like a better option, as phone liked to connect to it and drop mobile internet connection.

Instructions for formatting could be clearer. It says use a computer to format your SD card - I nearly returned it because of that (I don't have a SD reader, nor do I want to invest in one).

However, I ended up formatting it via the device itself. When you pair it to your phone there is an option to format the card. I wish the instruction manual said that!

So far this camera seems to be a pretty good value.

First of all, the size of it is fantastic, great for people wanting a low profile camera that doesn't take up much room on the windshield. Its very simple to use as well, with a single button controlling the save, and all other setup is done through the wifi app.

Video transmission works great through the iPhone app, however, I did experience some problems getting my device connected. This could make it difficult if I had to pull off some quick footage to show a cop or something. I think I prefer a built-in screen like some of the other cams at this price point. However, it is really a preference, since the video quality out of this thing seems a lot nicer than my other dashcam.

Also, beware that the audio quality out of this thing is almost unusable, but can get you by I suppose. This isn't a concern for some, including me, since I choose to record with no audio.

The ability to rotate the camera body is a great feature to get it set just right, and it's nice and stiff too. The mount is also pretty good, sticking very tightly with absolutely no wiggle. However, make sure you get the pan (left and right) adjusted just right before you stick it on, as this is purely adjusted by how straight you stick the adhesive to the windshield. I love the quick disconnect feature though, making it super simple to take the whole camera off. it even comes with an extra mount, so you could if you wanted to transfer this between two different vehicles, as long as you purchased another power cord for it.

Speaking of the power cord, I'd prefer it if the micro USB port was on the top of the device, that way the cord could be tucked more neatly into the cars interior paneling without being noticed, however, I suppose you could flip the camera around using the swivel function and then flipping the video in the app. So really, this is a minor problem. The Micro SD card is in a great position.

Overall, not a bad option for a dashcam if you don't want a built-in screen (since it takes up less room without one) and you don't intend on recording audio. I love how sleek it looks attached to the car, and how little room it takes up. If you have a car without the built-in auto braking cameras like this Volvo does, you would be able to discreetly tuck this camera right behind the rearview mirror and forget its even there, until of course, you need it! I strongly encourage everyone to get a dash cam, its a cheap investment for something that could have the potential to really pay off in the future.
