So far so good…

Spent 5 hours yesterday in a Gulfstream 280 using this. I've used them all, boss a20, clarity aloft, Bose qc with uflymike, and most currently David Clark One x. Gulfstream cabin very quiet so worked well, will try in piston single coming weeks. Passive noise canceling not as good as full size Bose or David Clark, nor is the ANR. But good for jet. Most reminds of the Bose qc, but when the qc battery dies, headset unusable. In the jet UFQ was plenty good even with noise canceling off. My Bose qc back in the airline days would cut out it's noise canceling at major airports over runway bumps or centerline lights. UFQ did not yesterday at a major New Jersey airport yesterday. I bought this for a jet spare or my kids in the piston single if ANR keeps up to a noisy Piper. Tbd. You can tell it's a bit cheaply made but truly mimics a Bose qc headset. So far very happy for the price
WOW! Why didn't I know about these before I spent $800 on my Zulu?!

I fly a PA32 (Cherokee six) and since aviation headsets are expensive, I only had two Zulus for pilot/co-pilot, and the rest were the cheap $100 ones. As the kids grow older, I wanted to give them an ANR headset but didn't feel like spending $800 x 4, so I looked around and found these. Just got back from a 4-hour flight with them, and I am simply amazed. They are light, do not compress your head to the point of a headache, and do as good of a job as my Zulus (for almost 1/3 of the price that is).

Cons:
They are not the same material grade-level as the zulu. Zulus are made for battel. These are more like your high-end Boss or Beats. They are not cheap by any means, but you get the feeling that after a flight you should put them in the case rather than throw them on the rudder peddles. ok with me.

No built-in Bluetooth:
This is a personal preference item. For me, one less thing that can go wrong in the back of the airplane is better, in other words, I prefer the kids use an audio cable. If you ever tried to resolve a BT connection at 10,000 ft, you know what I am talking about. In this case, less complexity is better.

No automatic shutoff:
At least from what I noticed, they won't shut-off by themselves, but I may be wrong.

Pros:
The lightest headsets you ever used in a cockpit. Period.
ANR is at least as good as the Zulu, if not better.
Audio is very clear and clean.
Boom mic works great and can be swiveled to accommodate left or right
The Price of course

Ken (My Co-pilot in the picture, and a commercial pilot in life) loves them as well.
All in all, a great buy. Blue Skys!

Edited Review:

I wanted to add that I used the aux port serveral times and it confused me at first but this is a wonderful function. (I used audio cable. Not the bluetooth connector that comes free with the headset) When you plug into the aux port, the volume control now becomes a FADE adjuster. So you may be upset with the quality of music or sound if you don't know what you're doing. Once you're connected. Volume UP means 95% Radio 5% Music and Volume down is 5% Radio 95% Music. So this means, you control the overall max volume by adjusting your Radio at Volume Up. Then go Volume down and adjust your max volume on your music on your phone. So when cruising with Approach, you can generously listen to music and when you hear your tail number, you simply fade the Radio over the Music and hear with better clarity. Hope this helps! Still 5 of 5 Stars folks.

Original Review:

I was skeptical of the decibel reduction at first. I havent messed with noise cancellation for about maybe 10 years. And that wasnt impressive back then. But I went from using PNR David Clarks at school to these ANR A7s and I literally put batteries in at school and jumped into a plane. The ANR dropped my mouth open as I hit the switch. With old PNRs you have that "Sea Shell Effect" (where you hear the ocean) and when you put on the A7s you hear it too. But when you flip the ANR on... you enter that scene in a thriller movie where you hear nothing. Obviously when you turn on a plane, yes you can hear it, but the effectiveness this brand provides will most definitely protect my hearing for the time that I will use them along with a much slimmer design and lightweight composition. For anyone looking to buy themselves their first headset because theyre tired of borrowing the flight schools, which often are slobbered on by the last goon, I assure you that these are much nicer than any old PNR set you will ever put on your egg.
Best bang for the buck!

So these are super light! Which I love for longer flights. I finally wore them for 2.7 hours straight and didn't bother me! Noice cancellation works being able to control the volume is helpful. I use an aux cable I bought with a lightning end to connect to my iPhone and can hear the alerts from ForeFlight. Durability wise still yet to see as the ear ups do feel fragile so I treat it like it would be. About 2 months of use and it's been great!

I only wished the earcups would be slightly larger but it's still fine.
Nice ANR headset!

Purchased UFQ A7 ANR headset to use in 135 charter operation flying jets. This A7 is the most comfortable headset I've ever worn. Not uncommon to wear it 8 hours per day with none of the typical ear or headband pain. ANR is not quite as good as the popular $1K headset (which I've also worn for years), but it is very good, plus A7 is lighter, more comfortable, and only a third of the cost! After almost 1 year of heavy use, and hundreds of hours of use, the only problem I've had is one ear seal split open at the seam. Contacted customer support and they are sending new seals at no cost! Batteries last for months. I've used this in single engine piston aircraft for a couple hours and it is as quiet as the heavy passive green headsets. Wide range of volume adjustment, and ability to 1/8" jack in music or phone is convenient. Note: with 1/8" cable connected to phone, you can hear phone call over headset but cannot transmit from mic to phone. Simply hold the phone by your mouth to talk, then put it down to copy the clearance, or whatever. Good ANR headset at a good price! Highly recommended from a flying pro!
