The pen writes wet, has a firm nib (medium), and looks wonderful.
I've had the pen for a bit now. I use my own ink, which the converter readily accepts with no problems. Converter comes with a sphere in its chamber to facilitate the flow of ink and prevent ink stagnation for the health of your pen and writing flow.
The nib looks elegant and will have to be "broken in" by its writer. The more you write with it, the better it gets.
I write every single day, and this pen has become my companion. Affordable, flexible (despite my demand), and looks wonderful. This Dryden has a quiet sense of elegance without a wink of obnoxiousness, and for a great price.

I went on a fountain pen binge and bought about 10 different brands and a bunch of ink (in bottles). This one is my all-time favorite. Why? Firstly, it is heavy enough to feel solid in your hand, not too heavy. Second, It doesn't leak at all, even when you are writing with it (can't say that about all the others). Third, the red looks really nice, Fourth: the tip is not too broad and not too fine, ink flows nicely. fyi, I use bottled ink, this particular pen has been refilled twice so far. So anyhow, fountain pens are the most aesthetically pleasing to write with, though a bit more complicated than others, if you know what you're doing (which I don't but I still like the results), you can make pretty calligraphic looking inscriptions, this is my favorite pen so far.

Pen comes with an attractive pouch. It is a little lighter in weight than I expected and the barrel is a smaller diameter than what I have been using. I'm sure I will get used to the smaller diameter. It has the feel of a very good pen, but obviously not a very high-end pen. It is very attractive and rich enough looking for my tastes. Best of all, I like the way the ink flows on the paper - writing is the most important thing and it feels very good. I had some difficulty the bladder - but it must have just been "priming the pump" or something, because when I refilled it worked as I would expect. I have another higher end pen that I have been using and was finding very frustrating because even after as little as a minute or so, I have to work at getting the ink to flow. This pen has all the promise of being my "go to" pen. So far a great buy for the money.

This pen is supposed to replace my beautiful Pelikan fountain pen. I've had it since 1988 and I've loved every stroke it's written. As often happens with good fountain pens, the mechanism broke and I thought I could make this Dryden pen its replacement until I can get it fixed.
There is a huge difference, but I expected that given the price differences. The Dryden is a nice weight and feels balanced, but it's a tad too thin to hold comfortably. The surface is a bit slippery, so my hand isn't held in a relaxed position while writing. The nib is a bit wide, so I'm not able to write on smaller areas, like in my calendar, but I think I can change the nib. It's an okay pen, but you definitely get what you pay for in this pen.

Wow Where Do I begin?? I honestly just recently decided to start a proper pen collection of sorts. And I couldnt have picked the perfect first pen. This Dryden Fountain pen sets a very high standard for others to follow. I may not know much yet about proper pens but I do know what I like. The look and details are outstanding and everyone at work complimented the pen and swore it was much more expensive than what I paid. A real deal of price vs quality. I did read the instructions for the pen because I did not want any problems. I inserted the ink and it wrote beautifully. I will most likely buy either another style of Dryden or a different color. But for starters like me. This is Perfect!
