Because our winter has not gone away completely here in the midwest we haven't been able to use this outdoors..yet. But we needed to test it out to make sure it works. I love it because It is self inflating just as it says. Super simple to use just unroll, turn the inflation knob enough to allow air to inflate the matress, once filled just close the knob.

I laid it on my basement floor (the hardest and most uncomfortable floor in the house). For some reason mine took about 15 mins to fully inflate. Our floor is really really cold and once the mattress was ready to go I laid in it for a bit and you can feel the warmth retention from your body so that means once out camping this is gonna be perfect.

This sleep mat turned out to be a surprise to me. I was not thinking that it would work well in a hammock but figured it was good for tent sleeping. Fortunately, I was wrong. I actually like its use for my hammock more than I would for tent sleeping. It fit the hammock perfectly and the pillow was very useful and did not get away from me as it usually does with a regular blow up pillow. In the tent the pillow is a bit lacking. But that may just be me as I prefer a pillow that I can move around. You may, and probably will, find the pillow to your liking. It is totally adjustable in firmness. There is one item that I read in other reviews about the outer shell coming away from the foam filling. Understand this is a "self inflating" mat and if you blow too much air into it expecting it to blow up like those mats you use as floatation devices in a pool you would be way off base. Just let it self fill and if not firm enough a few slight puffs might help. But do not blow and blow and keep trying to fill it up. You will destroy it. Just like you would not take a sledge hammer to a glass you should not exert extra pressure to the internal portion of this mat. If you treat it right it will last a long time.

We got this for our spring break camping trip. We have a queen air mattress and that was too small since kids are bigger now. So I decided to get a pad for to place a sleeping back. The package was light so I was a bit worried if it would provide enough comfort. The pad was fully inflated in 30 minutes. The first night I decided to try it out so husband and kids can sleep better. I thought I would have all kind of body aches in the morning. I was actually to get full 8 hours of sleep without tossing and turning. Since it turned out well, I slept on it for another two nights. On the third night, it started to deflate a bit but still have enough cushion/support. Overall, I think it was a good addition to our growing camping gears. We will have another Boy Scout camping trip in two weeks. I will try to update and see if this will hold up for multiple frequent uses!

The first time to inflate, we had to help it along by adding some air ourselves. After that it was very comfortable. After the first time though, it inflated quicker and better on its own! This is a perfect product for backpacking because it's very lightweight. and providing just enough padding from the ground when it's needed! It's also perfect for sleepovers or just providing a little cushion from a hard livingroom floor as well! The kids give it 2 thumbs up and I think it's perfect for the price!

I got the self-inflating camping mat right on time for my camping. It is very light and easy to carry. Sleeping on it is way better than just on the ground. The mat is self-inflating, just open the cap and it will inflate itself, and then you close the cap. The included pillow is not self-inflating, you have to blow it by mouth or blower. The mat is also water proof so you don't need to worry about the humid coming from the ground. The sweetest part is there are two repair patches included, so you don't need to worry about leakage. The only thing I am not really like is the size is a little bit small.
