I rarely review before building but I've bought about 30 miniature kits in all and based on this experience I wanted to say that this kit is in good condition, with English instructions and plenty of colored photos. The printed colored paper for the walls and other accessories is of a quality thick stock. Even the balsa wood is not flimsy as with some other kits
I'd recommend this kit as it's exactly what is advertised. You will need your own tools (ie glue, scissors and tweezers) but they have all of the other pieces needed to build this adorable room
MUSIC BOX NOTE: all other miniature kits come with the exact same music box that has the exact same song regardless of what the house looks like. Plus I find that it's a depressing song. Like someone in China accidentally mass produced this music box.

HOWEVER, this music box actually plays a little Christmas song so it's the first time that I'll be installing it. Will update when build done. I'm actually excited!

Fue la primera casa que hice (la de navidad) y me divertí mucho aunque no me quedó tan bien, dañé algunas cosas...los vendedores son amables y responden tus dudas.. le seguiría comprando a ellos. Lo único que me salió defectuosa fue la caja musical..Al principio servía, quizás fui yo la que la dañó al ponerla. Algo que noté es que el sofá queda muy apretado en la casa, debería haber más espacio. O sea un poco más grande por unas pulgadas. Me gustaría hacerla nuevamente.

It was the first house I made (holiday times) and I had a lot of fun although it didn't look so good, I damaged some things ... They should invent a new technique to put the fabric on the sofa since it seemed complicated to do so. The sellers are friendly and answer your questions ... I would continue to buy from them. The only thing that came out defective was the musical box ... At first it served, maybe it was I who damaged it by putting it on. Something I noticed is that the sofa is very tight in the house, there should be more space. I mean a little bigger by a few inches. I would like to do it again.

SO CUTE!! Takes time and patience to put together, but it is worth it! The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was because it was missing two components, and the flyer enclosed with the kit said to direct all inquiries via email to "Dave's House". Got a good response from them but I have yet to receive the parts needed and in the meantime I improvised and finished the house without them. This kit only supplies just enough supplies to complete putting together the items without any leftover - seriously - so if you make a mistake and you have to re-do something you may run out before you finish the house.

Daunting to open kit and find so many TINY pieces to cut, glue, & construct, but once over the shock of that, my 11-year old (very crafty) daughter and I really enjoyed working on this together this summer break, patiently constructing furniture items (eg. bed) piece-by-piece, and letting each dry, whilst moving along with its accessories (eg. sheets, blanket, pillows). By the time accessories are done, the furniture piece is "set" (tacky glue), and ready to be put together.
Items are mostly made of paper, printed card-stock, and fabric, which you cut & glue (or sew) using templates. Since we sew, that helped in construction of the pillow & cushions, but for the sheet, bedspread, curtains, etc, using tacky glue was easier. As we went along, we customized a little and accommodated our mistakes (the bed-end shelf and sideboard shelf are same width, and we later realized we had used the sideboard's wider top shelf as the bed-end's top shelf, oops, so we widened using spare white card-stock on top of the narrow shelf). The point being, if you mess up, a) you can creatively accommodate, and this encourages outside-the-box thinking, and b) now you know the 2 items that are equal width, both with white top shelves, and can learn from our slip-up.
Kit is available with and without clear "dust proof" and "musical", got to love the terms, so check that if you want them included. We paid the extra dollar or two to have these packaged into our kit.
We glued accessories to furniture, as each time you even gently knock it, the little items fall off shelving, etc, but we kept the furniture items movable, for fun re-arrangement/play. The little dog is just adorable, and a sturdy accessory/resident of the house.
I'm a teacher and I just love the many levels of learning, skill, and joy in creating, that my daughter is developing by constructing this kit herself (with a little help from me to get rolling, and learn to follow the pictures, look for the item numbers, etc). At this point she has taken it over and just asks for help here and there. She is taking so much pride in this and having a lot of fun without a screen in sight. Will be purchasing more of these little kits over summer break.
I'd recommend them as being best for 13 and up, or younger if fine motor skills are sound. Patience is required! Definitely do not attempt if you are rushed/busy, or cannot offer adult help. Would be a perfect "unplugged" vacation activity, and if you also pack the following, you should be all set:
tacky glue
needle-nose pliers
wire cutters
toothpicks etc for applying glue
a sorting-tray or little containers to categorize and safely hold items as you go
needle and thread, if sewing pillows etc (easier than gluing the stuffed items)
optional: extra tiny beads, fine-tip sharpie, tiny florals, fabrics, scrapbook papers, etc if you want to customize and create
AAA batteries, if you want the lights to work (last step)
optional: cool-glue gun, for electrical wiring and perhaps walls (hot glue if you don't mind burning your fingers!)

This is a wonderful kit, filled with so many tiny details! You will need sharp scissors, fine point tweezers, glue, 3 AAA batteries, and good light to complete it, but it's very managable for crafty teens and adults, if you take care to organize your materials and take your time. This kit took me about 5 evenings to complete. I mostly used quick dry tacky glue, but did use super glue (CA) to glue the beads for the light fixtures together. This kit came with everything else needed, including clear, full color English instructions.

All of these kits are called "dollhouses" but they are not designed to be played with, although if you left off all the tiny little details, and just glued the house and furniture pieces together with minimal decoration, this one is probably sturdy enough to stand reasonably gentle play. I glued everything down, including the dog, rug, and furniture. The finished result is a miniature that everyone will admire and you can feel proud of having made.
