Such metal!

I'm a bit picky about my metal tone and the GE200 delivers.
the best acoustic guitar preamp available?
musician reviewsAugust 2, 2018
I actually use this as a classical guitar preamp. The noise gate is undetectable, the EQ is extremely useful the reverbs, looper, boost, volume pedal and cab sims make this unit a capable replacement of more than half a dozen other pieces of equipment. I use the Kremona KNA-1 saddleblock pickup into a powerworks monitor for small performances. I love the form factor and have since downloaded several impulse responses for both steel string and nylon string guitar that work very well. The only other piece of equipment I regularly use now is a separate looper so that I can adjust the preamp controls while the loop is in playback. I haven't found a way to alter the tone of the internal looper after it is recorded (though you can record a loop of a preset (or several) then listen back to it to confirm (ie to select the best preset during a soundcheck). It would be easy for Mooer to update the firmware so that the looped signal could be reamped through any selected preset.

Best practice pedal period

Beats everything on its price range. Best practice pedal period. Super small! fits in my guitar bag. Modeling is quite good specially for the high gain stuff. You can load custom IRs. Really easy to configure. Works best with full range speakers.
Best bang for your buck multi-effects unit but probably not a gig worthy replacement of pricier units.

Nice little multi-effects unit. Don't try and compare to the big units that cost 3 or 4 times more. It sounds good, has lots of nice features and appears to be built well (time will tell). That being said I don't know if it is live gig worthy, there are no trails when switching effects so its limited in that respect. I'm a bedroom player and find this to be an excellent practice/jam tool. Interface is simple to use, very intuitive. Has aux input, a looper and enough effects to please most palettes. There is also the IR feature that is unheard of at this price as well. Great bang for your buck.
