This is the best thing since sliced bread. I've an older car without Bluetooth and I will not buy a new new one just to get that modern convenience when this is a better price and works like a charm. It took me less than 10 minutes to get this device connected to my smart phone via Bluetooth, able to send voice commands to said phone, and hanging in my car ready for use.
After that I waited until I needed to take a nice long drive to really test it out...
Initially, I struggled most to master the timing of my voice commands; I kept repeating myself, which sent redundant/confusing commands to my phone.
Once I got past that little hiccup, however, this visor mounted Bluetooth speaker/microphone worked great.
The commands on the device itself are limited to 3 buttons, so they are simple; although, some functions, like powering off/on, require holding buttons down for longer periods of time.
Of course, the trade-off is that with one touch of this device you can send a voice command to most smart phones that will keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel better than actually picking up your phone would.
Based on feedback from the people I spoke with, as well as my own experience, the sound on this came across loud and clear on both ends of conversations I had while driving.
I also had no problem getting the microphone to understand my voice commands, again, after I got my timing down.
The one thing that surprised me most when putting this to the test was how much I liked using it for navigation.
With the speaker mounted right in front of me on my visor, broadcasting my turn by turn directions loud and clear, I found myself looking down at and fiddling with my phone a lot less than I normally would when using GPS guidance to get around.
If you are looking for an affordable and non-invasive way to enhance the hands-free options in your car,
I highly recommend you give this nifty little device a second look.
