Great and reasonably priced

Very quiet, had to weld the flat platform onto the top of my pipe, but other than that fairly easy to install. I added the solar/wind controller with resistor that was recommended to go with this and I'm very happy with the results especially for the price.
M/S is not MPH!

Some people don't understand that m/s is not mph. 10mph winds is 4.5 m/s (meters per second). It should be an average wind speed over several minutes,
not a gust. Those who wasted a few hundred dollars because they don't have enough wind should probably stop giving poor reviews. The wattage rating is the full power capacity. I don't know how to rate "sheerness" and "thickness" as Amazon has suggested in the review, so I gave that 3 stars. I know this thing spins and produces voltage because it has magnets over coils. Please if you purchase a wind turbine, learn about wind and generators and DC voltage. This is just a little project of mine, not using to power an off grid home... but I do work on the big 4 megawatt turbines for a living and got a kick out of some of the reviews.

I'm still giving it 5 stars because I don't think this is the manufacturer's fault. The sound of the blades whipping through the air is very unpleasant. It's like a high frequency screech. Maybe I'm too sensitive but that awful sound disturbs my peace and would probably disturb the neighbors too. It's like living next to a factory. And the fact that this is coming from above, six meters high up in the air, is even more disturbing, as if a helicopter is about to land on your head. If you are living off grid, with no neighbors and able to install this 20 - 30 meters away from the house, then maybe it's okay. Otherwise, it's a problem.
So, with all the pain and regret, and after all the hard work I put into erecting that 6 meter tower, I had to take it down and stash it away. But I don't regret the experience, I learned one more thing in life. But I'm not throwing it away or giving it away, I might use it one day, maybe in a different location, who knows....
TWO DAYS LATER - PROBLEM SOLVED
No more terrible noise from the wind turbine. I installed it again but this time WITH the charge controller. It appears that once the charge controller is hooked up it slows the turbine somewhat, regulates the speed, and as a consequence it doesn't spin out of control and make a terrible noise. Now it just creates a kind of whistle, still a bit annoying but tolerable. So we are back in business. Just remember that when you hook up the charge controller FIRST you connect the battery to it and THEN the turbine, in that order. Everyone stresses this so I will too.
