Frustrating bracket design but overall great product

Would have been simpler to allow the bracket to be directly mounted to structure but instead you have to attach a piece of wood to structure that you then mount the bracket to. This looks less attractive and actually is less secure because the bracket is secured to a piece of 1X with fairly short (3/4") screws instead of the actual structure. Sometimes I scratch my head at these designs. I was able to workaround this using a mini-ratchet and attach it the way I wanted directly into the ceiling joist with two 2.5" structural screws. Other than this design issue, fantastic product.

Purchased 3 of these for workshop. So far it's working well. They never leave a lot of room in the reel, so sometimes it won't reel in all the way because the way the cord wrapped inside, you just have to pull it out and rewind it. No biggie. Had the button trip when using a small air compressor, but only once. I'll update as I put it through it's paces in the workshop.
