A couple of years ago we purchased a tank less on-demand hot water heater, which we love. However, since these types of units don't store the hot water, but rather heat it up as you need it. The heating up and cooling down of the water within the heat exchanger in the unit can cause sediment build up if you have hard water. Which we do. This in turn tends to flake off during the cooling down of the unit, which then flushes though into your plumbing fixtures, causing all sorts of headaches due to clogging them up the tiny openings in facets and shower heads. So, we added one of the KleenWater hot water filter just off of the hot water outlet pipe of the tank less heater. Yeah! NO MORE SEDIMENT!!! Just changed the filter tonight and was amazed to see a good three tablespoons of sediment in the bottom of the filter assembly, which is where it belongs. Rinsed out the filter bowl, new filter, bit of waterless grease on the ring and good to go again. Wholly recommend this product. Very solidly built, the wrench that comes with it is a must to use.

I have this filter mounted on the outboard side of my Rinnai tankless gas water heater. The scale from the water heater was constantly clogging my faucet screens. Flushing and cleaning the Rinnai was not solving the problem, this filter did the trick.

Item was received very quickly, several days prior to estimated delivery date. The filter has been in service for approximately a month and is working as advertised, solving a long term calcite issue we have had. Installation was straight forward and posed no issues. I mounted the filter against a bulkhead which required shimming the filter off the wall by 3/4 of an inch to permit access for the wrench when changing filter cartridges. I've had no issues with odor or taste in the water from either the housing or cartridges.
Finding threaded, plastic adapters for this is a pain.
