The post on this it nice and wide and the base is wood not carpet so my cats are not confused with which carpet is okay to scratch and which is not. I also love that the sisal is woven not just string wrapped around a post. Very easy to put together. Nice and tall and sturdy.

I received this a few days ago and while my husband was showering decided to help him by putting it together. This was so easy to put together and such good quality. As soon as I put it together our kitten Luna started sharpening her little claws on it and loved playing with the jingling ball that hangs. I definitely recommend.

My 8 year old cat has never had a scratching post before this one and he took to it immediately. He's a pretty big guy so I was worried about it tipping, but thankfully that isn't a problem. I would definitely recommend this one.

If you are in need of a tall scratching post for your kitty grab this one! The price is so affordable compared to other posts of the same height and it is a strong, stable piece. I have a 7 month old kitty who runs and jumps everywhere including onto this scratcher...it does obvious start to tilt over when he flings himself on it but due to the wide base it doesn't fall over. I love that the top has a faux fur perch...both my cats love to sit up there. I may eventually get the square bed that sits on top. It is tall enough that my full grown 2.5 yr old kitty can get a good stretch going and dig his claws into the post material. The only thing I would change is to add the same faux fur that is on the top portion to the bottom base portion. But that's not a huge deal. Overall I highly recommend this scratching post...I think your cat(s) will love it!

This is the second one I have bought for my munchkins. The first one is pretty torn up, and I have put it in a different area of the house as they still like to use it, but after 2 years, it is pretty much on it's last legs. No worries though, just got them a new one and they're busy scratching. One of my cats climbed up the sisal to the top just using his claws. Awesome. Best thing about this is that they don't seem to scratch my furniture. Not saying that this is the reason, as I really don't know, but if it is the reason then I am glad I got this for them.
