Sure enough, about 1/2 from each bag was. So, I took the undamaged ones and returned the bag full of damaged cones and had no issue.

I used those pinecones for two different kind of Christmas decorations and they both came out lovely! The size is perfect, not too small and not too big, they don't break easily and are sturdy enough for crafts and even though I could not detect of pinecone smell, they sure look the part!
