I looked around the internet for a while for a viable way to purify water.Finally,I choose this filterted water bottle. I had this bottle for servals days now and it is wonderful. It feels good knowing that you are drinking clean water everywhere you go. Another thing I liked about the filter is that there was absolutely no weird taste of after taste.

It is really inconvenient that you should bring enough clean water during hiking. I bought this filterted water bottle for my 2 days hiking. The SurviMate filterted water bottle is very convenient. All I had to do is fill it up and drink. Any sediment settles at the bottom underneath the end of the filter. When you refill you just rinse it out. As you fill the bottle, you blow on the mouthpiece to clear the filter. It's not necessary, but it does help it to last longer.I like the design of this water bottle as well since the spout is integrated into the bottle cap and is protected when folded down and not in use.The bottle is also very tough. If you are a hiker you need to add this to your gear.
Impervious membrane on bottom filter

Purchased two of these water bottles. The 1st bottle (blue) works fine, the filter has no issue with water flow. However, 2nd bottle (black), the lower filter membrane was impervious . There was no water or air flow through this filter. The membrane was solid, it took drilling three holes about an inch deep (which was difficult) to actually get air or water to penetrate. Unfortunately, this eliminates microscopic filtration. Hopefully manufacturer will replace this defective filter.
