This item seems to be pretty much as promised but I do have a minor complaint. I followed the instructions to cover the dish with foil and when I unzipped the carrier to take out the dish, the underside of the lid had "melted" onto the foil. It left a mark but didn't seem to tear the lining so I didn't send it back. Next time I will probably put a dish towel over the foil to prevent it from sticking to the carrier lining.
I can't speak to how long the dish will remain hot as I took mine to my neighbors house and we ate it right away so it was only in the carrier a short time.

I spent a little more on this carrier than originally planned but boy, I'm sure glad I did. I took my potato dish out of a 350 degree oven at 8:30 am for a 12 Noon office potluck. Was it still hot? It most certainly was! Was it as hot as when I took it out of the oven? No, but it was hot enough to not have to reheat in the office microwave. It was definitely ready to be uncovered and served. Once placed in the carrier, I covered the dish with foil then with two dish towels as others advised. That worked great. So if you're looking for a casserole carrier, I highly recommend this one. You won't be disappointed!

Debut my purchase on Thanksgiving. I took my baked Mac & cheese out of oven at 1:15pm and put it right in the container. I covered with tin foil to avoid a mess and to help keep in the heat. At 3:45pm the ladies of the kitchen and I anxiously watched while I uncovered the dish. Sure enough!! Steam came bellowing out when I lifted the tin foil. Very happy with this purchase.

This is an awesome product for transporting baking dishes. What I especially like is the large size to accommodate large baking dishes, as well as high-profile lasagna pans. It does a terrific job of keeping things hot (when you use the upper inside part with a microwaveable heat pad) for at least a couple of hours. I also like how durable the outer shell is, and the carrying handle works very well. I like it so well, I'm ordering another for large gatherings. I would highly recommend!
