A little wobbly but great product

No issues with this product. It's hand wash. Do not put in the dishwasher. Just wipe it with a dry towel. It wobbles a bit, but you'll get used to it. You don't need to press hard. Let the knife do the work. The slots are sized for the thickness of the bread you want. It's a really nice gadget. All the issues I see on the reviews are people being heavy handed, or throwing it in the dishwasher. Don't. There is no need. Even if you're doing a sticky bread. Just use a damp rag to clean it. The device will last forever if you take care of it.

I like it, but it could use some improvement. Ideally the sides should be either thick or thin slices and not vary"¦.maybe exchangeable or selectable width per device instead of varying where you have to move the bread constantly. Also it would be nice to have adjustable bread width so it does not wobble around. I love the quality of the knife as well as the magnets holding it in place for storage. The catch tray is a very nice thing to have as well. It takes a bit of care to cut straight, I cut into the slice width selector wood the second time I used the tool.

clever design but dull knife

The knife is quite dull. I'm going to replace that with a better quality knife. The frame is a good guide for scoring the bread & for cutting partially through the loaf. However, unless I want to slice the soft wood I need to transfer the loaf to a cutting board to finish cutting through the bottom crust. In spite of that inconvenience I would probably buy it again"”just one without a knife. The wooden part is very well made. I appreciate the non-slip pads on the base of the unit. They hold it in position and they also provide air space between the device & the counter. It's a clever design.

I was baking bread about twice a week for 6 or so months. I definitely have some larger grooves in the wood. One of the slots, I also cut into so now it is split a tad bit. If you're careful with your hard crust breads, you'll be fine with this cutting board
