Easier for the Cat to Eat from; Impossible for the Ants to get in!

The shallow bowls are easier for my cat to pick out the food from than the deeper ceramic ones he had before. Now he doesn't smear the food around as much, so I don't have to clump it back together and point to him where it is. Stainless steel is easy to clean too. Most importantly however, is that the water I fill the trench (built into the plastic stand surrounding the bowls of food) prevents the ants from entering the cat food. For that alone, this deserves 5*!

This actually seemed to attract ants! They had totally overtaken it within 2 hours, it was worse than plan bowls on the floor somehow. I tried to "snap" the dishes in as suggested in another review and they don't "snap". Will return.

I have a passive aggressive cat that loves to fill his mouth with kibble, snort, and vigorously shake his head spewing food all around his eating area so that he can watch me clean it up after he is done. I swear earlier today I heard him chuckle when I got a cramp in my back while tidying up the floor around his dish. He is a VERY messy eater so I thought I'd give this dish a try. While it doesn't catch ALL the food he flings around, it has made a big difference in at least corralling it.
With that being said, after using the dish for a few days, I quickly realized that although the moat catches a decent amount of food, so does the water dish that sits RIGHT next to the food dish. After strategizing, I started filling both containers with food so I'm not constantly having to change cat food infused water and also so the food in the moat doesn't get soggy if water spills. Hepper Nomnom should also make this type of dish with either a single food dish OR put some kind of barrier between the food and water dishes so that I can finally one up my smart ass cat.

Keeps Food Off of the Floor

Our cat used to have two ceramic bowls and would remove pieces of food to eat off of the floor right next to the dishes leaving a small mess over time. This product has eliminated that problem for us. The cat was a little wary of the new setup for a few days but is comfortable and eats out of the metal dishes now. I do believe that wet food is a little messier and sticks more to these metal dishes than the previous ceramic dishes we used to use though.
