Plumbing it up, to include a by-pass wasn't really too bad. I definitely notice a drop in pressure vs running thru the bypass. Pulling from a well, via an aerator, may have initially gunked up the filters. I've noticed the pressure gradually decrease over the week since I installed the system...and I was aware going in, this could be the nature of the beast. BUT! The filters really do clean up the bland, aerated, sulfur well water. I'll research filters and see if I can find different types that don't attenuate the pressure as much but still produce good water. At ~60psi in, I'm getting ~30 to 40psi out (depending on the pump cycle). I may also nudge the cut-off pressure of the pump...maybe. If I can overcome the pressure issue, I'll be 100% happy! UPDATE - Since I wrote the initial review, I began experimenting with my filter system. What I hadn't mentioned before is that I'm actually running a FOUR stage system with a 'Pre-filter' ahead of the Max Water 3-stage. Upon removing the cartridge from the separate 'pre-stage' canister, the pressure issue improved greatly! So, it seems the prime culprit was the pre-filter, NOT (so much) the Max Water 3 stage! Just thought I oughta clarify that.

The water that came out of it with the filters that came with it tasted and smelled like a cheap Chinese plastic product. I left them in for a few days to see if it would clean/clear out, it did not. Changed the filters to some high quality filters and immediately got clean odorless water. Still happy with my purchase.
