I love that the dagger has heft in the hilt. Definitely not a throwing dagger, but that's not why I bought it. Gorgeous detail on the dagger hilt and sheath. And the gem is purple! It's my favorite dagger by far.

The knife itself is heavy and well made. The "jewel" on the end is plastic and had fallen off during shipping. A little super glue fixed it but why have a cheap thin piece of plastic on an otherwise well constructed knife? I'm sure ups is the one that damaged it as the package was smashed too. Should have just skipped putting a piece of plastic on the end and just focused on a well made knife.

I mainly use mine for display at home but it's a hefty feeling blade, while not too heavy, beyond the show value or accessory function for kilt hose. It sheathes well with a satisfying click and looks perfectly fancy for it's main function as Scottish kilt accessory. I can't speak for how long it would hold it's sharpness but that's generally not it's function for this type of knife in our modern age.
