If you Google about the game, PENTE he will find out the game has been around for years. They play it in Europe and they played in Europe with stones years ago. I purchased it from Barnes & Noble and my son played it for years and now my grandson plays each game is really quick and it's good to get your brain thinking of strategies, I was thrilled to see it on Amazon. The only reason I give a four-star is because the rubber mat that you play the game on with this company. The rubber mat was a little bit smaller than the original one that we were used to but it's a great game for kids or adults or both

This is a great beginner's strategy game you can play at all ages! I played it will our kid's ages 16,15 and 8 without any issues. the board is of good quality as well as the game pieces. rules are easy to read and understand! great game to add to your collection!

This is a fun game, nicely made. The game board is a mat instead of cardboard giving it a luxurious feel. The mat also makes it so the glass pieces don't slide around, and the mat stays firmly on the table instead of sliding around. Four, three, or two people can play. It is more fun with more people. It is easy to learn how to play, not very complicated, so young and old can play together. Similar to connect four but with backstabbing and betrayal. Very enjoyable

the pieces are very small and the space between pieces is extremely limited. the pieces are of uneven size. the board stains easily. no case, just the bulky box.
I want bolder colors on better stones and a return to the tube!

I love this game, and I bought this to add to my 20 year old set. The mat is still good, and despite the way the box looks, is still stored rolled. I have not the slightest idea why this comes in a huge box, because it's ALL air.
The stones seem a little smaller and lighter than they were in the past. Most annoyingly, the colors are softer. The weak green and blue are troubling to colorblind players. I'd prefer a deep blue and a bright yellow, like in the original version.
Still, you get four sets, which allows you to play a four-player game, which was a new experience and quite enjoyable. I still love this game, and I love how simple it is. You can explain it to adults and children and they both catch on quickly.
But I really want the tube back.
