Inaccurate step counting

I really wanted to like this because it appeared to do so much.
The good: It's thin, light weight, the band holds tight and looks good. The battery lasts a while (not sure how long as I kept it less than a week, but I didn't have to charge it once). It receives texts, but really just the first few lines of them. They also don't clear quickly when you've already replied on your phone.
The bad: Most importantly, it counts steps inaccuratly. I had purchased this to replace my Gearfit 2 that was glitching on me (stopping for no reason randomly). So I compared the two, wearing them on the same wrist all the time. At first the Novete was only 150 steps behind, but as each day passes the number grew. After a week, it was 1500-2000 steps behind. So I also bought a fitbit to use as a control. The fitbit was always AHEAD of the Gearfit, but by varying amounts depending on what type of workout I did. So if the fitbit read 10,000 steps, the Gearfit would be at about 9,700 or 9,900, but the Novete was at 8,500 or even 7,900.
I had really hoped this would work, but I'm just not motivated knowing it's innaccurate and that it should be reading more.

The band is comfortable and it seems to do a decent job counting steps. I also use an apple device which isn't on my wrist and the counters are usually within a couple hundred steps of each other. I love the fact that this band is a watch too...it's very convenient having a watch on again after years of not...so much easier than pulling out my phone to look at the time especially when I'm timing my walking.
The sleep tracker isn't remotely helpful. I am awake a lot at night and I have found that if in laying in bed or on the couch watching tv the tracker counts that as light sleep. I wish I could trust that feature more because it would be interesting but i cant because i know for a fact it says I'm asleep when I'm awake.
The app is interesting. I haven't played with it too much but it does allow me to set a goal for steps and the band buzzes when I reach that goal. It's been syncing up fine with the band every time I open it. It's not as intuitive or user friendly as the app on my Apple device but I'm sure the more I play with it the more I will like it.
I may in the future get a fit bit but I really wanted to spend less to see if I really liked wearing a band at all and what features I like and use the most. I paid less than $30 for this and feel like it was worth it for that and I will continue to use for a while yet. Good value and a great introductory fitness band...but overall just ok since some features don't work that well.
