When I unpackaged, it had a lot of strong petroleum odor. I hung it in the shed for a couple weeks and that improved things.

I like the bag but threading the 4 straps onto my rack (plus the 2 hooks) is honestly a bit time consuming. Wish there was a better means of connecting it.

That said, it has a good capacity and seems very sturdy. No problems with multiple half gallons of milk.

So these saddle backs are good for bringing smaller things around. Unfortunately it wasn't big enough to hold my laptop, but I can carry some light groceries in it.
The bags attach to a rack with straps... only straps so it's probably not a good idea to leave it out in the open since someone could just unstrap it and take the saddle bags. The same thing somewhat goes for the bags themself, they're close by zippers, only one zipper so there is no way to put a small lock on the bag zipper.
I can see these good for people that are only going to bring a little bit with them because these don't have the most space, ether that or just bring a backpack along with these.

So I'm very pleased with it.

However, the built in cardboard side pieces, I suppose to keep it out of the spokes, is just not quite rigid enough. My first bag had wear holes in the sides of the bags along the spokes on each side after two years of use.

I bought another as a replacement and I rigged up a couple of short 1 ft. long wood dowels with zip ties to the frame, on each side of the rear tire, to keep the bag from getting into my spokes. Simple fix and now its fantastic!

The bag holds a lot, is secure, and easy to put on and off.

I carry 1 first aid kit, 1 bike lock and cable, 2 hand towels, a bag of (3 pairs) rubber gloves for chain work or tub change, 2 extra tubes, 1 hand air pump, 1 WooWind air pump, a tire tool kit, 6 headbands, an extra pair of bike gloves, and usually two extra filled drink containers.

I use my bike for both daily transportation and longer, recreational trips. I replaced my heavy pop-out baskets with this and I am very happy with the change. While I can no longer carry the large watermelons or 12-packs of beer that used to fit in my baskets, I can still carry a decent amount of groceries and, for longer trips, it added so little weight, I didn't even bother to take it off. And so cheap! I actually bought this to see if I could live without my baskets before investing $$ in "real" panniers, but I'm happy just to keep using these.

Used this with an Ibera bike rack and it fits perfectly.

Pros: Side pouches are mildly supported against a bike rack. The cloth won't sag and get stuck in the bike rims while riding. All one piece with a strap on top to carry around. The strap lays flat if you want to add on a top carry case. Very easy to use the included bungie cords - attaches tightly and securely to the bike rack. Easy to remove as well.
Grey cloth outer fabric is durable and very water resistant. The large interior pouches are lined with a rubber-like material making these water-proof ish. Water *might* be able to seep in from the zipper area...but unlikely. I would feel extremely comfortable riding this through a monsoon knowing the inside will be dry.
I can see this fitting many different styles of racks and bike setups.

Cons - not really any that I can see. It's possible the stitching around the zippers might break first - they don't seem super heavy duty...not no issues yet.
Not all of the pouches hold their form very well - only the large pouches that are against the rack-wheel side. Is not an issue for me. If I were to choose a more expensive one with a solid form vs this....I would choose this. Not so much a con, but a preference.

Overall, I give it 5 stars! Easy to use on a bike, easy to carry around off a bike, and stays dry!
