Great Mailbox

We needed a mailbox for our first home and we wanted one that would increase the curb appeal of the house. The house we are in was built in 1910 and we felt like this mail box fit the aesthetic. The installation took about two days but we spread it out over the labor day weekend. I started by cutting a 2x4 concrete frame and pouring a slab by using 3 bags of quikrete. We probably could have used more but wanted the slab to sit shallow so rocks and bricks could sit flush with the side walk. The kit for the mailbox included some concrete anchors but I chose to get some tapcon concrete bolts/drill bit and used silicon around the fittings of the mailbox to help protect them. Other than that the box is quite good in quality myself along with our neighbors are impressed with the final product.

Good product easy install, The upper bolts that attach the mailbox to the post have nothing to seal them from leaking water in a heavy rain. I used an o-ring between the box and the bolt to seal the hole. Other than that we will se how it holds up over time.
