The quality is better than I expected, although the pictures do indicate a good quality. I purchased the brown, hoping I would get brown since the picture for brown is a gray color. Not to worry, I got the brown. I used the ole steam kettle to reshape the front brim so it would stay down, and it worked perfectly. It looks just like I walked out of the 20 or 30's. Excellent hat for the price. It did come in a box that supported the crown. All and all I am more that satisfied with this hat and seller, This hat is so nice, I will purchase a black hat to match my darker cloths.

Not a bad hat, though overpriced at $40. The wool felt is OK, but not great. A lot of people have mentioned that the brim won't stay turned down - that's because you have to re-shape these to your taste (just like the originals). Easy to do just holding it over a teakettle and working it into the desired shape gradually (do not soak the felt, just get it warm and damp as you go, going thru several repetitions in the process until the right shape is reached). Once you have it the way you want it, set it upside down on a clean surface and gently block it between two objects that will keep the brim in the desired shape until the felt cools and dries. Then the shape will be set.

It's a decent costume hat, but nowhere near the quality of an actual fur-felt hat would be. The brim was a little narrower than I'd expected.

This is a crushable wool felt hat, and the reader should take that into account. It is virtually identical to my crushable wool felt fedora by Scala. It features a C-crown shape, a grosgrain ribbon with a bow, and a feather (which I easily removed). The only problem is not the fault of the manufacturer -- it was shipped in a plastic envelope, and was crushed in transit such that the brim is off kilter and won't straighten out, though I have several tricks up my sleeve to try. I kept this at 5 stars, though, because for the price and material it is an excellent hat. The sizing is good -- I'm a 7-1/2, and a large fits great.

My son wanted to wear a hat to prom and this one was PERFECT!!

great quality, good fit. I wear a large size and have had difficulty finding quality hats that will fit my 7&5/8 head. this hat is good. I would like to see more colors in this style.
