Good buy for the price, for older kids

This loft bed is exactly what I needed for my daughter's room. For the price, it's a great product. I assembled it on my own, and I'm a mom with no particular superhuman strength. Yes, it required some heft and some mildly precarious moments, but it was completely doable. There were pieces where I had to really fiddle and balance to get everything lined up, but there was nothing that just wouldn't line up, which I find to be a common problem with less expensive furniture. So I was happy to not have that issue. In terms of sturdiness, I tightened everything tight enough to not have it strip, but it still wobbles the tiniest bit. I feel confident in its sturdiness though. It looks great in the room as well.
My only complaints- the side rail could be a little higher. I think it recommends using a fairly thin mattress, but ours is average size and it doesn't leave much of a rail. My daughter is 9, so I think it's fine. I wouldn't recommend this for a young child though, or one that flops around a lot in their sleep. The ladder is fine for a kid, but very narrow. Even as a relatively slim person, I found it hard to get up and down when setting up her bed. I guess that just means she has to change her own sheets now!! :)

We decided to purchase this loft bed because our 9yr old daughter's room was getting a little tight. After comparing many different beds in this price range I decided to go with this one (even though it was on the more expensive end) because the ladder seemed easier on the feet and was mounted to the side, the bed looks like wood, and it's a really good height. Not so low that she can't comfortably sit under it and not so high that her room seems tiny. I'm 5'7" and I can sit in the chair under it just fine! Pretty easy to assemble. Just make sure to pay attention to which ways the end rails go (notice the side the holes show to face) and make sure to have help once the side construction is finished. The ladder is a bit steep, but I'd rather that then one that sticks off and takes up more space. Creeks a tad but we didn't choose to mount it to the wall with the included hardware. Our daughter loves it so much! Very well made.

Overall, this is a great bed. We purchased it for my 8-year-old daughter who is sharing a room with her 18-mo-old brother until he's ready to move from a crib into a room with his big brothers (6 yo & 4 yo). The bedroom is not huge, which is why a lofted bed makes so much sense, maximizing space. The bed took several hours for my father and husband to put together, so plan on two people and an afternoon "labor of love." :)
I would not hesitate to purchase another bed, with the understanding that the bed scratched easily (during assembly) and came with a dent on one of the main rails. If it wasn't so hard to disassemble and replace, we'd probably look into a replacement rail. As it is, we'll probably just find a sticker of some sort to cover it up.
Overall, it will do its job well and hopefully last for years to come.

I was so nervous about metal instead of wood, but needed the budget version of these beds (we paid $229 each) for a small space where our two daughters share a room. They are SO sturdy, not loud at all, and as you can see, absolutely beautiful. The straight ladder instead of a slanted one was definitely an adjustment, (their bunk bed previously had an angled ladder) but it only took them a day before they were up and down easily, even at night. (They are 8 and 10) We've strung twinkle lights underneath and have enough height underneath to put desks and chests of drawers. They have their own defined spaces now and could not be more pleased! I plan to attach small shelves to the second ladder that's against the wall so they can put little knick-knacks or small plants. Will add a picture when I get that done. It did take two people at the end to finish putting them together, but my husband thought the building of them wasn't bad at all. We highly recommend!

I took months researching reviews and still felt like I was taking a chance but I love these beds. We bought two. They are slightly wiggly but not in a bad way. My 11 year old boy and 5 year old girl love them! I'm happy they made it through shipping just fine. This is not thin flimsy metal. My husband was impressed with the quality of the metal. This is one of the only metal affordable beds with comfortable steps. I liked that there are two entrances so you can punt them in a room in different ways without accidentally blocking the entrance. I like the ladder doesn't stick out and no one will hurt their toes or be in the way. No regrets here....
