I've now used the tiller for a few months on some of the toughest earth I've seen. Besides the clay soil I need to work through, the earth is FILLED with rocks and roots. This machine does a great job and handling all I throw at it! It does take multiple passes to loosen up the soil but that is to be expected with the type of soil I'm tilling. I'm using it in a backyard heavily wooded setting and am inundated with MANY hand-size rocks and a quagmire of roots. My only complaint is how the roots wind themselves on the axle, between the inside tines and the hub. I need to turn off the machine, lift the hinged rear plate, and cut, tear, pull, unwind the numerous roots that have become lodged there. I don't consider this negative conducive to just this tiller/model and would assume it would happen to most rear tine tillers in my environment. Good machine! Recommend!

First of all, like some other reviewers, one of the transport wheels came bent...not an operational issue but it does wobble on solid ground...contacted the company directly (DO NOT go thru Amazon support -- they wanted to send me a whole new tiller) and I have a new wheel coming -- no problem....this was why I did 4 stars instead of 5. It was extremely easy to put together, all the nuts and bolts were loosely attached to the parts they belonged to -- great -- directions were also easy. As a bonus, it came with the three wrenches you need, AND a quart of oil, AND a funnel -- all great. The folks I visited with online about the wheel were very quick to respond, helpful and very nice.....I even got a free t-shirt mailed to me! Now, after re-reading my review I may have to change it to 5 stars....Oh, and it works perfectly -- even plowed through some quack grass with ease.
