What a difference, been using paper filters in my 5 cup Mr. Coffee. Coffee always came out weak. Since using this filter everything is perfect. My only issue was the handle, it kept getting in the way and falling inward into the coffee ground. I wound up removing it since you can use the tab on the side to remove the filter.
The bottom is a screen and solid plastic.

I just got into Home Grinding coffee, and Switched from a FlexBrew to Mr. Coffee because I wanted to have extra coffee in a pot so I could either drink it later, or put it in the fridge for Ice coffee.
This fit perfect in my Mr. Coffee, Here's the thing.....
When I make 4 Cups, it's PERFECT!!! I use 1 tsp per cup as recommended, and add jusr a 1/8th of an inch more water for evaporation, especially if I haven't used maker in a while.
NOW, when I try to make only TWO CUPS, this is where it fails. (See Image) Got a weak cup and wasn't happy. Once I saw the filter I know why.
To get around it, I put a small piece of plastic there that I cut out, but I think I will look for a filter with a full plastic bottom, and not filtered down there so if drips to the side.
