Beside the boxes being open when they arrived I was surprised nothing was damaged. The Desk looks great and very study. ONlY picture instructions (I prefer words instructions) but with 3 people it took maybe 6 hours after unpacking all 3 boxes to make sure all pieces were in good shape.

Ordered this desk and just got someone to put it together. Its very sturdy and beautiful but one of the desktops has several spots where it is chipped. Hate that I spent this much money and it has these defects. Beware, open boxes when you get and inspect the product.

I read the reviews before I bought it and expected the worst for assembly. To preface this review, I have experience putting things together just based on furniture I've purchased on the web. So, I do understand how the fasteners are used and how directions are usually written. I had my dad help me out because some of the pieces are heavy and require two people to attach pieces together. And the directions tell you this is recommended. I was surprised that most of the pieces were labeled and directions were clear about what pieces are used on each page. The only pieces that were not labeled were the drawer pieces. And that was pretty easy to figure out. It took us about 2.5 hours and the process was smooth. I have to say that the desk looks great in my space and functionality seems well thought out. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.
Just in case you are reading the other reviews and are a little hesitant on attempting to put it together, just know if you have a helper and take your time with each step you will have no problem with assembly.

It is definitely a job to put it together. Assembling it where it will stand and carefully putting it in place is important. It is quite heavy and at least two strong people need to handle it to ensure no stress is placed on the areas screwed together as this is compressed wood and moving it wrong can cause the wood to stress and break. One criticism is that there are pieces to be screwed on for finish work, but the screws provided are too short to hold them on. I had to get some new screws long enough to hold the pieces on. Otherwise? I love the desk. We put it together with the L shape as one piece and the large desk as a stand alone. That way if we have to move it a bit, we should be able to do so without damage.

Love the desk. Perfect size for our home office. Durable and functional. Better quality than I thought. No damage and instructions were pretty easy to follow. My husband and I were able to put it together in a day. It is time consuming, heavy and would recommend 2 people. We use it as an L shape and the other table separate. I replaced the handles. Bought a different design from Lowe's. Just my personal preference.
