My daughter asked for this for Christmas and we purchased it thinking it would be like most toys she has--adored for a day or two and then forgotten. Instead, this has become one of her favorite toys of all time. The hatching experience was really captivating and then the robotic animal is so well programmed that we all fell in love with it. The sound effects are great and it is life-like enough that she really thought of it as her baby. She would get stressed when it cried, she asked us to babysit it when she had to leave it for a short while, and she generally cared for it like a mother. Instead of casting it aside after a few days, she loved it constantly for two months until it broke. She was devastated but the company is great and has agreed to send us a new one. This was one of our best all time toy purchases and the toy designers deserve many kudos. This is a high compliment given that we have historically banned talking toys from our house, yet we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the replacement Hatchibaby.
That haven’t opened but package is colorful and in good shape no dent dings nothing.

They haven't been opened yet cause they are Christmas 🎄 gifts. But when do will write more about but the package is nice and in shape I expected it to be in and colors are good and colorful. They was as expected and kids loved them and the little extra that came with one of them throw didn't work properly even after replacing batteries

So much fun! My 5 and 7 year old girls got these for Christmas. It was very exciting to watch them hatch and see who was inside. My only wish is that it would stay in the egg a bit longer. Bot girls only lasted about an hour. Not enough time to really get the feel of what the colors mean and what it takes to take care of an egg to make it hatch. Kids should play with toys longer these days.

The thing hatched, but it's been hidden in a closet ever since because my daughter is scared of it (it is kind of creepy). She had begged for it and we decided to buy it for her even though it seemed pricey. Even if she wasn't scared of it, I think the price is inflated for what you actually get.

I bought this gift for my niece who was turning 5. We read the directions before opening. The experience was so worth every penny. Everyone was on the edge of their seat as the girls at the party took turns warming and rubbing the egg. Eventually, the egg will crack as you give it warmth. It was really cool because it rocked around and made noices before it was ready to show itself. It came with several accessories and is ready to play once it's out of its shell. The bottom of the shell Is kept as it's high chair for when they need a time out, I thought that was really clever.
This toy needs lots of love! It's like a new age furby. Definately looking at other hatchimals for future gifts.
