I had one die and was able to get a replacement under warranty. Contacted support through chat, and was directed to Echo device support. The person helping me was very polite, but for some reason his records showed I had an Echo Show 1st Gen. I have 2nd Gen. He allowed me to place the order for the 2nd Gen, and I gave him the order number. So, basically, I paid for the replacement, and got a refund. I'm glad it died under warranty. 20 bucks is a lot for a simple power supply. I have 2 Echo Show 2nd Gen. Had one right over a year, and one just under a year. This is my only failure. Multiple Echo, and Echo dots none of which have failed. So, I'm not alarmed.
The dead power supply didn't smoke or spark. It just died. No output. I'll crack it open and see where it failed. Just hoping I don't have to get too rough cracking it open.
