I bought this adapter for a backup camera. I didn't want to splice into the reverse light. Easy to hook up to my cigarette lighter. Hooked up camera, no image. Checked with voltage reader, I had a bad fuse. Put in new fuse, connected camera, and I had a live camera on my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. 4 star for the bad fuse, otherwise great adapter, and no splicing into existing wire.

So the wiring kit works great because there is no wires to splice but why bother? After seeing what was involved to install this wire harness I determined it was easier to run a positive from the fuse box and a negative from the grounding block into the cab and hide under the carpet to my ham radio. If you own a JL there is a nice grommet that is super easy to run the wires through on the drivers side fire wall under the brake fluid reservoir. I ran fused heavier gauge wire so I run more demanding devices than this harness is rated for and I didn't have to mess with the chance of breaking a dash tab. Don't get me wrong this is a useful wiring harness I just found it easier and better to home run my wires to the fuse box. Jeeps are easy to modify

I used this wire harness on my 2012 wrangler. I had an open spot on the lower part of my dash where the power mirror control is usually placed. Opened up the dash, plug it in and put some connectors on the end to put a USB charging port in place. I could have spliced into the factory wires, but this saves quite a bit of time and looks cleaner. No issues with it.

This worked perfectly on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator. I had my dash cam and phone charger being powered by the radio, but the output wasn't enough. This adapter allowed me to power them off of the 12v outlet, and keep the wires hidden. I created a multi port harness, and I'm using it to power my inclinometer as well.
