This thing is balanced just right and doesn't take a lot of effort to chop. This thing cuts brush like crazy. I took about 10 minutes to put a sharper edge on the bottom half of the blade to be able to do some finer work. I am impressed with the quality of Condor and will acquire more Condor knives.

This is reasonably sharp right out of the box and I used it to hack down some overgrown evergreen bushes. It would slice through wood up to about 3/4" thick, and was heavy enough to chop through thicker branches. I did strike the ground a few times, but this did not leave any apparent marks on the blade. I haven't used many similar tools to compare to, but I am happy with my purchase.

I received mine last week and have used it for some moderate camp clearing. Perfectly balanced, and the best chopping machete I have used. The sheath is of excellent quality, but it's a little hard to remove the chete from it. However my review is based on the machete for tasks I use it for. If they come down a little in price will probably end up getting a couple more. I doubt you will find another that bites like this one.

This came pretty sharp but needed some touch up. It's quality and a great size for you EDC outdoor kit. It stores well in a car and has many functions other than cutting brush and wood. This can be used for building a shelter, feather sticks and preparing a meal.
