We had a small leak in our pool and used this until I could get it repaired. Worked great. Saved us having to add water manually. After the leak was fixed we still kept it in to keep the water level correct during normal evaporation. Highly recommend.

Before we had a leak repaired our 25,000 gallon gunite pool was losing almost two inches of water daily, apx 340 gallons. Local pool shops said only about a half inch was normal daily evaporation. Was having to top off from our garden hose for three or four hours daily to keep the skimmers engaged and prevent our variable speed pump from "sucking air" from them and ruining that equipment. Carefully selected this device based on reviews and its apparent simplicity. Unfortunately there was a problem. The unit never shut off until it was completely submerged in our pool. Bryan, who makes and markets these, was in frequent text contact with me to troubleshoot. The photo with the blue background (i.e. the inside of a five-gallon bucket) revealed the water level had to get too high on the float to close the shutoff valve. He said that photo indicated a problem so he sent me a replacement float assembly, which I easily fastened to the vertical rails. The second photo, from the side of our pool, shows a properly working device. The faucet is on, with a pressure reducer, and the float has shut off the water when its only about an inch above the housing bottom. In other words, working perfectly. As I replied to him a few minutes ago, I appreciate his standing by his product and his customers, an increasing rarity these days.

I am truly impressed with the quality, predictability of this device. I used to have to add 2" of water for 2 hrs each week here in Florida on a 20,000 gallon inground pool. This required me to either stay home (no vacations) or find someone to come, turn on the water and remember to turn it back off again. Now I can go on vacation for 3 weeks without issues. I thought it would run at full force then shut off if I left a hose turned on and connected. It starts out filling fast until its auto float valve gets close to closing, then gradually slows down to a trickle until the pool hits the desired level, then shuts off. I leave the hose turned on and connected now always. So now, every day, the pool water level drops slightly due to evaporation and this unit turns on and refills the pool at a slow trickle until the water hits the desired level and shuts back off. This is fantastic, it has made my life better and I highly recommend this unit over the others available. Well worth the investment. My pool is now maintaining the same level everyday and i have to do nothing. It is connected to a deep well tank with pure water. This definitely beats having to replace a $3,000 variable speed pump because the water level will never drop!

We love this-it was easy for me to install without any help in just minutes! The only issue since we are snow birds-is before I left I put a paver on top of the black foam of the unit to keep any high winds from blowing it over since this is Florida and hurricane season. We were hit prior to this purchase from Hurricane IAN, so just being overly safe. A neighbor who does not have a pool now said when he had one years ago-he had one of these. Then I checked with our pool company and they also recommended this one, and said most people do put a paver on the top of the black foam since some have a long hose leading to it from their faucet-incase someone trips over the hose, it should stay in place, or if it gets windy from a storm with intense rain or winds!
