TOSOT 50 Pint 4,500 Sq Ft Dehumidifier Energy Star - for Home, Basement, Bedroom or Bathroom - Super Quiet (Previous 70 Pint)

Key features
- •4,500 SQ FT DEHUMIDIFIER: Our dehumidifier can remove up to 70 pints (2012 DOE Standard) from your home. This is our largest model which is perfect for large rooms up to 4,500 square feet or spaces that are extremely wet/moist. With the continuous gravity drain you can bypass the bucket and remove water into your sump pump or floor drain.
- •ENERGY STAR RATED: We may not all agree on climate change, but one thing we can all agree on is the relief of saving a few bucks on your monthly energy bills. Energy Star-rated appliances are not just better for the environment, but also for your wallet.
- •BASEMENT DEHUMIDIFIER: Create a more comfortable environment in your home by removing excess moisture from your basement. Too much humidity will also decrease the lifespan of your furniture, tools, musical instruments, documents, photos and books, as well as shoes and clothing.
- •QUIET OPERATION: You don't always see it, but that's the point. A peak sound level of 48 decibels means you'll barely notice the dehumidifier is there. For comparison, 50 decibels is almost as loud as a secluded suburban street or a normal conversation at home.
- •POWER OUTAGE RESTART: If you experience a power outage due to a storm, our dehumidifier will revert back to the last settings you selected once power is restored. We want to give you you one less thing to worry about after you get back on the grid.

Great dehumidifier

This dehumidifier works great for its intended purpose. The "basement smell" is gone from my lower level living area and the air conditioners do work better! I do not have a floor drain to use the hose attachment but I don't mind dumping the reservoir each day. The one issue I have is it appears to leak water from the front right corner leaving a wet spot below it each day. Upon closer investigation I have found the reservoir was damaged during delivery. There is a small crack in the lower corner allowing water to slowly leak. Sugestions?

Attractive and quiet, the dehumidifier that is..... Using in a 1300 sq.ft. basement.Has removed 4 gallons in 24 hrs.Shipper did an excellent job in a timely manner.I'll do an update in 3 months and another at 1 yr.I did a brief search to learn more about this company. They primarily manufacture residential and commercial air conditioners, so dehumidifiers would be a logical offshoot in their product line. Most, if not all dehumidifiers are of Chinese origin.I want to go on record as stating they make {China} many high quality consumer goods and if most of us gave an honest opinion we would all agree. I believe I read one review that mentioned an unacceptable noise level. My 70 pint is super QUIET. A 5 star review on anything these day is hard to find. My hope is that this one is just that. As a genuine reviewer, I can always give honest feedback to questions.
QUIET nice dehumidifier.

We purchased this de-humidifier to replace one that lasted only 18 months. It is used in a finished, conditioned basement. My husband has a train layout that is very sensitive to humidity and here in the South we really have high humidity. After ordering the Tosot 70 was here in two days, we unpacked it and set it up with a hose to drain direct to a floor drain. This de-humidifier is very quiet compared to our previous one. The air in the basement has less humidity and that is a win win for us. This is the second TOSOT, we are very satisfied with both the 50 and 70 pint models.
Love this dehumidifier!

I love this machine. Got it after finding mold in our basement, which had been growing unpleasantly damp since winter. Easy to set up, and it registered our humidity at 80% (eek) after running for a bit. It now runs for about 9 hours before we need to empty the bucket (desired humidity set to 50%). I store the water and use it on outside plants as summer has been very hot so far. Water was a little soapy at first, but hasn't killed anything yet %)
Our basement is now comfortable and doesn't smell anymore! The only annoying thing is that the humidity goes back up to 70% if the machine hasn't been on for a bit because we haven't emptied the bucket. I'd love to set it up for continuous running, just haven't yet worked out how to do that AND keep the water. It's also very quiet.

The first unit we received had a large crack in it, but that was the fault of the UPS driver who apparently just threw it on the porch as the box was damaged as well. We re-ordered and have had our new unit working for the past few weeks. The pipes in the basement typically produce A LOT of dripping water due to the hot temps outside and the air conditioner working so hard inside. But since we've installed the unit, we've had no moisture whatsoever. I'm very pleased with it.
