I put this on a 15 foot surf pole and it works really good, I wasn't sure because of the pole size but long cast and very smooth reeling. Great price and quality!

I'm really happy with this reel the drag is smooth and baitfeeder drag does a great job. Put 12lb test Berkeley Trilene Big Game mono on it and the first time I used it caught 6 channel cats 23 to 24 inches. I highly recommend it.

I went looking for a quality reel for my new custom rod, & I found this reel on here figuring it would be cheap due to the affordable price point. Most reels I have found in my price range were good, but I was advised by the rod maker (who happens to be family) to only get a 3000 series & no more... so everyone I found was out of my price range except for the low end models which, let's be honest, don't hold up as well as their pricier brethren. But after watching some reviews, I decided to pull the trigger & go with Kast King.
I am so glad I did because what I got felt way more solidly built & crafted than I gave it credit for. I put that on my new rod, & though I haven't caught anything yet... I can say that it's lightweight design is a perfect fit to match the very light rod it is paired to. I can't even tell sometimes that the line is coming off the reel without visual confirmation! it was the best fishing purchase I've made so far (for a beginning angler), & I definitely intend on getting all my reels from them going forward! I will post some pics soon...
