We have three of these, two have been going strong for over a year and one for 6 months. My kids wear them every day and compete with each other and their friends to see who is the most active. I love how they encourage them to stay active. When the ones they're wearing are all worn out I will be buying them again. My only complains that if I go too long without syncing them to the app the time tends to get off by a few minutes. Not that big of a deal as long as I remember to sync them.

We love her Fitbit ace! I gave it to her for Christmas 2018 we use the family function in the app it tracks her steps & her sleep; only criticism to sleep is occasionally too sensitive, sometimes doesn't register a full sleep when we know she got one. Other than that love. Totally simple to set up! No idea what any negative commenters have any trouble with.

This is a winner! My daughter is borderline obsessed with this, and maximizes her steps on a daily basis with this! It has been charged and worn daily since Christmas, and she loves seeing how much she moves and how well she sleeps.
Capabilities are limited when compared to the adult versions that her friends have, and she wants a "smart watch" next year (not happening, she is in Apple Watch envy right now). I did find replacement bands online (still the silicone), and the silicone is my primary complaint. We got dark purple, but it still got to looking dingy and gross. I looked for the metallic bands like I got for my Apple Watch and others have for the adult fitbits, but haven't found them to fit the kids version.
We had several other kids brands in the past, and this was the easiest by far to set up and use daily. My 5 year old has already asked for one for her birthday!

My daughter asked for 2 things for her 8th birthday. A fitbit, and a baby panda. This seemed like the realistic way to go. She loves it, and beats me in every challenge. I'm satisfied with the purchase, and humiliated by my constant defeat. It's rugged enough to stand up to her constant movement, and fashionable enough that she likes to wear it with everything. She's very conscientious of her movement and sleep habits now, and enjoys engaging others in physical activity. That's what it's all about, so bravo! I understand you pay for the name, but realistically, it could probably cost a little less, only true complaint.
Otherwise like it and it is successful at motivating my child ...

We continually have trouble getting it to automatically sync. Have Googled for help and it seems the only way around it is to plug it into the USB and turn it off (press button on charger 3 times), then it reboots, at which time it will sync. Otherwise like it and it is successful at motivating my child to be more active. Note that the band that comes with it is way too small for my 11 year old. Fits better on my 6 year old. We bought generic Alta bands instead.
