Pleasantly surprised. I'm picky, and, yes, I know this is "American" style cheese. However, Daiya did a good job of getting a nice creamy, mild cheesy taste without a weird texture or aftertaste. I will try it on cheese toast and see if it behaves like dairy cheese.
Edited to add: Behaves really well toasted. It gets gooey like dairy American cheese, rather than stretchy, like dairy mozzarella or cheddar. Heat didn't change the taste, either, still tastes good.
