I have had some vision issues working with small numbers and with new glasses, still couldn't read some documents without a hand held magnifying glass. Most of the "free standing" ones lasted a few months and had their limitations. I had used one of these years ago for fine needlework but my sister was using the one we had so I found this, ordered it and am so glad I did. Very flexible in the positions and completely adjustable to fit at my desk, by my chair or even standing! The lights are very bright and several choices with the dimmer. It's very sturdy and easy to move with heavy duty castors. The base is wide but this makes it very stable. Because of all the positioning options, I can move it close to the desk or chair by turning so that the feet slide under the desk or chair and it fits just fine! Highly recommend!

Absolutely lives up to its reviews . The only thing I found to be difficult was opening the parts bag. They tied a knot in the top of the bag. They need to replace the bag with a ziplock. All the rest is convenient and easy to open. Well package so every thing arrives in tact. I was able to put it together with no help and it lives up to its name bifocal. I can do my arts and read tiny print now. Totally recommend this lamp. Yes its price is higher than the others but I have purchased the cheaper ones and they break or tip over. Pay a little more and get a light you can use for years and years.

I am happy with this lamp. I use it for my knitting and fine work projects. The light is bright and it has a few settings which is nice. the main problem is the maneuverability, it is stiff and though I can adjust it with 1 hand but it moves stiffly and to get it just right I probably have to use two. It does not roll too smoothly, it drags. Given the price I was not expecting it to be "Great" but it is sufficient for my needs.
