I bought this for my workbench. Similar in setup to the advertising picture. It totally eliminated the shadow under the shelf. This product by itself will not brightly light up an area for detail work. But used as I did to eliminate shadows, brighten areas for detail work, etc. it really does a great job. I have since bought 2 more to line under all the shelves in my work area. Installing was as simple as can be. Tape is holding securely to both steel and wood surfaces. I would recommend this product for the uses listed above.

I initially received a faulty product that would flicker if it was oriented in certain directions; however, the issue was resolved after contacting ViLSOM directly. These lights are great for lighting a workbench on a budget and the ability to adjust the intensity of the light on demand is definitely a strong selling point over conventional lighting. I wasn't able to light my bench uniformly because the LED strand wraps around my unit 2.5 times, but I think that is specific to my application and not the product. The price per value is fair.

I was a little leery buying this for my workbench, LED tape lights? Really? But once I figured out where I was going to run the thing, it works exceptionally well. I used the entire roll, just kind of started at one corner, went to the other, wrapped it around the corner, and strung it along the other edge. It gives good light, and allows me to see my projects on the bench, and I don't have to worry about being as clumsy as I am and accidentally breaking a glass tube.
