Crap quality! the clear plastic percolating viewing bubble doesn't even stay on. Incredibly inferior quality. Not what i would expect from a company like GSI
UPDATE: We seriously wanted to like this product, but disappointed us. The GSI camp coffee percolator is pure garbage. Right out of the box, The plastic perk viewer does not fit or stay on because the hole is too big. The link that holds the lid to the handle is flimsy aluminum and does not sit flush on the handle because the handle was manufacture crooked thus making the lid open at a wired 25 degree angle when opened, and does not sit tightly on the pot when closed. So when opened, the viewer fall out/off, and hot coffee for the lid spills on you hand. I have only used it to brew 5 test pots, and the enamel is already chipping off from the inside as I have found blue enamel flakes in my coffee. So disapointed with GSI that my ageny is pulling support for all GSI products.

First time with a percolator. Purchased this for a camping trip that lasted a week. This produced exceptional cups of coffee. Flavor was delicious and strong - perfect for chilly mornings at the camp. Upon coming home my wife and I decided to throw out our electric coffee maker and will just be percolating from now on. Easy to clean, easy to use and the finished product of the coffee is outstanding. Getting your coffee course ground saves the need for a filter on the pot.

I was on the market for one of these for months and we finally went with this one. I would TOTALLY recommend this. It is so awesome!!!! Makes the house smell so good! I got the black rifle company coffee and that is so tasty. This was worth it all! Not disappointed.

I had done a lot of reading on which percolator to buy and take on our nearly two week family camping trip and finally decided on this one. This product held up nicely. We used it every morning over a Coleman gas stove and had no problems. It heated up quickly and made good coffee. The external material is thick enough that I didn't worry about it denting or chipping. The top sight glass is plastic, but it is fairly thick and we didn't have any problems with it. The inside materials are thin and light weight and if you are not careful you could break it, but we kept ours inside the percolator the entire time, even when packed down, and never had any trouble with it. The only part we had trouble with was the hinge for the lid. It did at some point come loose and allowed the lid to come off, but the fix was easy enough . . . just bend the hinge back the way it needs to be and you are good as new. I would buy again if needed.

I used this on a recent 2 night camping trip. The top is connected by thin metal wrapped partly around the handle that both comes off and re-attached easily. The pour spout had 5 out of 10 holes blocked with enamel, I'll try to fix that with a nail and hammer. It boiled water quickly and survived several boilings directly on the coals and cleaned up easily with steel wool and dish soap. I did not use the peculator.
