Bought this for basic back packing and camping. It is nice and light and easy to store. I do like the magnification glass on it as it is a good idea but it is a little small to really make a difference. I like the color as it is easy to locate if dropped. Great for beginners or cub scouts in my opinion. Good price on it as well.

For the one I got the magnetism of the needle was clearly reversed or the red and white colors are swapped, same effect. It pointed South instead of North.
Was able to fix it with a speaker magnet and a YouTube tutorial, so not the end of the world, but was pretty annoying to be confused for a day about everything seeming to be in the wrong direction and then get lucky after an hour of trying to fix it.
