It's comfortable but strangely small. I had one from like 10+ years ago and it is way longer and wider so I think these have shrunk

I had the original contour pillow from 2003. I'm a back sleeper.
My measurement is about 4.5-5" from.neck to peak of shoulder.
I was so confused by the reviews. A picture under the large pillow helps.
The pillow be it small, medium large will be about 2 inches less ling than the classic pillow. They are identical in length to one another
They're all the same exact width and other dimension.
What changes is the size of the height/depth of bumps in the contour.
Small is 3". Medium is 4". Large is 4.75".
My old pilllow said M underneath. Its small bump was 2.75".
The best replacement was a size S. Its shallow wnd contour bump is about 3" like the original pillow.
The large was too thick as a back sleeper. Back sleepers want the smaller of two sizes. If you're a medium but a back sleeper, go for small.
Arrives a bit more firm than the original but should break in after 7 nights.

I don't think I've ever written a review before, but for this I had to. It took me so long trying to find a pillow, reading all the reviews and how some people love them and some people hate the exact same one. After doing some research I've come to realize that people that sleep on back or side will LOVE this pillow. People that sleep on their stomach should opt for something with a bit more give. Now I will let you know honestly, when I first got this thing I thought there was no way I would sleep on it. It was the most firm pillow I've ever laid my head on. But since I have had horrible neck and shoulder pain for years now, I knew I had to try something new. I didn't even want to, that's the funniest part! So I sucked it up and used it last night and wow. The support it gives to side and back sleepers is out of this world. My neck pain is gone with just one use. I am pretty amazed, can't even believe it. But I just needed someone to read this that is wondering if they should buy it. If you're a side or back sleeper, YES! Stomach sleeper, opt for the softer version that they offer.
