low carb substitute

It has an odor when you open the package, odor disappear after washing it thoroughly. I pan fried it with garlic then I added left over sautéed vegetables And tofu. It has slight chewy texture if you eat it on its own but once added to veggies, you will not notice the texture. It's a good low carb and low calorie substitute to white rice.
No fishy smell... much better texture.

I recently learned that the fishy smell that accompanies most konjac products actually comes from the limewater that's used during processing to make the product hold their shape. Because this brand uses citric acid you don't have that nasty smell. The added oat fiber also gives the texture a bit more of a "bready" chew than the usual crispy/gummy texture of just the konjac.
As someone that's tried a BUNCH of konjac noodles these are definitely the best I've had. Is it the same as rice/pasta... of course not... BUT... it's a substitute I'm happy to eat and I can feel good about eating this brand because it isn't full of frankenfoods like most others are. I guess it's just a bonus that this one happens to be the least expensive per ounce out of all the ones on Amazon. SCORE!

Great for low card rice replacement

As is all low carb foods these cost to much, but if you doing a low card diet these replace rice for about anything. They take the flavor of the dish very well.
Good product.

It was a good product, but the "use by" was way too short. It is best to only buy a small amount so you don't have to eat it every day or throw it away because it expired.
Better texture than other Shirataki rices, but still squishy

I got the rice shaped and didn't see many reviews for it besides the ones about quantity so I thought I'd add my review. I got the 6 pack, and each pack has 2 individual bags of Shirataki rice. I followed suggested preparation and it was Ok, like a squishy rice and a lot more like if overcooked spaghetti was cut to rice-sized bits. Not as bad as other Shirataki noodles that have a rubbery chewiness that is unnerving. You get quite a lot with a 6 pack, considering the fiber content makes it more filling than the equivalent amount of rice might. Essentially flavorless though, so the suggestion of letting it absorb sauce is a good one to follow.
