I don't remember when or where I acquired my first Lunatec cloth. It was just one of several dishcloths I use frequently. After using it for many many years, it was very worn looking, yet still held up. Recently we hired a housekeeper and she told me that the yellow dishcloth was her favorite, so I told her I would see if I could buy a new one. She liked the rougher surface for certain tasks and great scrubbability. Luckily, the brand name was on the cloth so I was able to order it from Amazon. We were both happy to have new dishcloths. One day I threw away the old one when I was doing dishes. It was faded, worn and had served its time. When my housekeeper came back, she noticed the old one was gone. She said, "Have you never heard about the old broom which knows every corner of the house?" I apologized, because I realized that the old Lunatec cloth did lend itsself nicely to cleaning crevices and ridges, like on our grill pan. Even though it looked faded and old, it was still going strong. I regret throwing it out! My only solace is that in a few years, our new Lunatec cloths will serve us like that old broom. And we are enjoying having new, fresh cloths that make kitchen tasks a bit easier.
Great alternative to sponges

I did not receive this product or any other compensation for my review. I have had them for 2 weeks as of 11/15/17.
Pros:
*Great scrubbing power! I make over medium eggs for 3 people every morning. This makes quick work of egg yolk on the plates and on the fork tines (which never seem to get clean in the dishwasher). It doesn't matter if I leave the dishes or do them right away, these get the job done in no time with very little effort.
*Doesn't scratch the finish on my pots and pans. I was worried they would since they feel so abrasive, but I have used them on everything from my Teflon skillets to the stainless steel finish on my slow cooker without any problems.
*The material they are made from dries quickly, without any odor. I know "odor-free" is in the description, but it's nice when a product is what the seller says it is. The attached tab fits over the faucet with a little room to spare, but is short enough so the cloth part doesn't hang down in the sink basin. I have no qualms about reusing one several times a day for several days in a row. With a regular dish cloth I would use it once, hang it up to dry so I wasn't throwing a wet cloth into my laundry basket, then wait until I had enough dish cloths to qualify as even just a small laundry load. Which was never.
**They are horrible at wiping up water or whatever other spills on the countertop! This is a giant pro, a *double asterisk* pro for me! This means I no longer have to try and explain cross-contamination to an 11 year old boy who clearly thinks I'm making up words.
Cons:
*Since they dry quickly if they don't get rinsed out after their prior use then you may have to deal with getting food particles unstuck from them.
*It would be nice if there were a different color choice since they hang from the sink.
These are great overall, 4 of them do the work of 2 kitchen drawer-fulls of traditional dish-cloths. I plan on giving them as stocking stuffers.
Oh.... and.... I have always heard that you can "sanitize" a sponge by microwaving it, but that never seemed legit to me. I read an article about it in on the New York Times website that confirmed this. If you want to check it out it is in the science section, titled "Cleaning a Dirty Sponge Only Helps Its Worst Bacteria, Study Says" written by Joanna Klein, published Aug. 4, 2017.

A good investment.

I love it, it works great and launders up well. I pair my Lunatec dishcloths with Skoy Eco-friendly cleaning cloths (Skoy Eco-friendly Cleaning Cloth (4-pack: Assorted Colors) when washing dishes. I find that the Skoy cleaning cloths hold onto soap better, allowing me to use less soap. I launder the Skoy cloths just like I do the Lunatec dishcloths. Using both of these products together has allowed us to slowly kick the sponge habit! I've laundered mine a couple of times already, and they're still lovely.
Thanks for a great product.
12/7/17 - I loved these so much that I bought a set for my parents, who recently began using Skoy Eco-friendly cleaning cloths, as well. Thanks again for a great product.

Two thumbs up

These are larger than I expected so I fold it so it's a small square and this helps with keeping the soap on there. I do really like this dishcloth. I feel like I have more control with washing and can get into nook and corners better since I'm not trying to squeeze a fat sponge into a corner of a baking dish or something. After I'm done washing dishes, I unfold it and lay it over the sink divider and love that it completely dries. I've been grossed out by sponges for awhile, glad I found these and finally purchased them.
Long lasting and sanitary!

I bought a set in 2014, and I'm back to buy a second set now, only because three of the four from my previous set have mysteriously gone missing over the past month (I have a new housemate, but I'm not pointing any fingers...). They held up very well, they do a great job of scrubbing dishes without getting all grimy and smelly, and they're a cinch to clean by rinsing under running water, putting them in the dishwasher with the dishes, or tossing them in the laundry with the clothes. I won't go back to sponges or traditional dishcloths.
