I bought this to make my own iced green tea. I am lazy so wanted something heatproof I could "brew" in. I do not heat container on stove, i use hot water from the cooler & throw the tea bags in & that is fine for me. This is great size, not heavy, opening pours nicely & I can fit my hand in it to wash. It is light & I thought might be fragile as it feels light but has proved not to be (I have stone counters & have issues of setting things down harshly & shattering). The shape is not too big or small & could probably fit in the door. Minor flaws: the handle is just slightly too large & rounded & makes it a little awkward weight wise in handling when completely full but I gave weak wrists; lid is not seal tight & the seal itself is a very cheap silicone. But I would use without the seal & the lid has a strainer opening (great for me since I brew in the pitcher) & a regular opening. The positive features outweigh the seal & awkwardness & the price is very justified. I am ordering another before the price goes up.

So it's still good it holds the liquids and tolerated hot water being poured in. I haven't put ice in it and poured hot water in it to see if it lol crack.
It's not to be used on the stove but it can hold hot liquids.. Hands down it's very minimalistic if you're like me and drink the whole pitcher of teas or limeades this is for you. It has a spill proof lid.

I thought it would be more hefty but it still states in the description it's dimensions. Overall I like it, I haven't tried it on the stove I'm a bit skeptical it might crack.. I'll still be very careful with it. Using it for my home made juices, and teas I finish working 36 hours. Haven't dropped it yet but I will update.

After cracking a lovely glass pitcher I looked into safer ones of a different material as I think boiling water with the tea bags makes the best iced tea. This one is perfect- no cracks and great lid with inner rubber gasket that seals it well. And my iced tea tastes great after chilling in the refrigerator!

I love green tea. It's my primary beverage. I used to buy bottles of it shipped from Japan, but that got a little bit expensive. So now I brew my own for about 1/10 of the cost.
I love this pitcher because you can add hot water directly to it without worrying about it cracking. I buy green tea bags designed for half gallon batches right here on Amazon, and I pour the hot water directly into the pitcher. Then I add cold water to fill it up. (I probably could even heat the hot water up directly in the pitcher, but I've never tried that).

The pitcher can get reasonably hot and then immediately cool without cracking.
I don't like adding hot water to plastic pitcher, and so this glass pitcher is doing everything I bought it for.
It also serves as a great storage container in the refrigerator, and I can quickly and conveniently pour a glass of green tea. The spout works very well for pouring liquids into bottles, and the cap is made of light stainless steel which is a nice feature.

This pitcher has worked great for my cold brew but I am just waiting for the day that I hit the glass just wrong in the sink or on the counter. It seems very thin and easy to break. It works for now but I will be more careful next time I choose a glass pitcher.
