I use this daily to grind up a tablet supplement the size of a horse pill. I recommend using it on a few disposable tablets or pills first to adjust the grind and to clean any particles that may have fallen into the grinding chamber during manufacture or shipping.

Note that the edges of the lid, grinder body, and lower jar are sharp! The instruction sheet shows that the upper lid and lower jar are supposed to be threaded so that they can be screwed on to the grinder body, but the one I received just uses pressure to slip the parts on and off.

This pill grinder is the BEST!!! I've tried little plastic crushers, electric/battery operated grinders, and then I found this pill grinder. The little plastic pill crushers are fine if you have pills that are easy to crush or if you need one to carry with you. The electric/battery operated grinders end up creating a mist of pill dust when you open them -- how much is escaping?? The pill grinder can grind several at one time, easy to operate (turn one way, if it sticks, turn the other way and in no time, they're all crushed) and can crush in different sizes. Since my husband is a transplant patient and has MANY pills, this is a hand saver! I don't recommend cleaning with soap and water very often. If you do, dry with a soft cloth immediately so there's no chance of rusting. Wish I had found this first!

Bought this to grind down my husband's medications. Works well except on some of the huge pills. Glad I bought it. Makes the job so much easier.

I really like the concept I just think it could be better. So I put the pills into the grinder, the larger pills didn't make it down into the area to even get grinded. I had to turn it over to get the pill out and a little mess and loss of some meds happened. I then had to cut up the pill and put it back in the grinder. After all of that, the pills weren't crushed enough for the feeding tube. I then tried to dump it back into the grinder to try again but without the bottom piece attached (because it was in my hands with pills shavings) it poured right back out the bottom and onto the floor. That was my fault since I was still figuring this thing out. I mean I will make it work and it sure beats the hand grinder so I guess it gets a 4 star. UPDATE: ok so this really doesn't work for me. I've used it several more times and pills get jammed and some don't get crushed. I have to pour everything into a hand pill crushes every single time I use this. I will keep it and still use it along with my other pill crusher. Wish it were better because the concept of it is great.

This product is well made for the price. It should be noted that it is suitable for processing large/very hard pills.
