I'm very happy with this siphon for my aquarium. I've been using a non-pump siphon for a while and it's always a pain to get started. This one works as it should, pumping a couple times to prime it, then letting gravity do the rest. If it slows down due to a debris clog, just pump it some more or continuously and it will keep flowing, even with a light clog. It's great for my needs.

Very well made gravel vac. The pump feature is why I bought it and also like that there is plastic strainer at base of tube, so small fish won't go down the tube. At first the pump was frustrating and wouldn't start the syphon.(Yes ,I had it on correctly). After several tries, I thought the tube didn't fit so tight, so I got an old tube that fit super snug. And then it worked perfectly!! So please make the tube a tiny bit smaller in diameter & you will have a winner!
