Good choice for buyers on a budget

The item offers a great budget entry option for any collector or reenactor interested in the Imperial Roman era. Emphasis on BUDGET.
Judging by the condition of the liner, and the way the helmet has been assembled, it is clear that this piece was designed for DISPLAY purposes, not for actual wear. The internal helmet liner (to buffer the user's scalp from the metal of the helmet itself) is a token, flimsy system of fake leather, which has been GLUED into place. It will tear loose the first time you wear it, or place strain on it. There is also no system in place to tie down the cheek flaps, which makes the helmet even less practical for active wear. Sizing is on the XL size (my usual hat size is a 61cm, and this helmet fits me with some space to spare; upgrading the liner is highly recommended if you want to actually wear this for more than 5 minutes at a time).
Overall a great buy for displaying, but it will require some reworking and rebuilding internally to be functional for LARP or reenactment use.

The product is well made with great detail. I purchased the helmet as part of a display piece I'm making. There is oil on the helmet which is to protect the product for long storage and shipping. After cleaning I will add a thin layer of fine cutlery oil to preserve the metal.

It's one-size-fits-all, so it's gonna be extra big if you head's smaller like mine. Comfortable though, and works well for a dress-up reenactment. One thing that I wanted was the ability to secure the cheek guards, but that's not possible with this one. Good quality!
