Best gun belt I've ever owned over 11 years of concealed carry. It's as sturdy as it can be and still get through the belt loops of dress pants, including the excess after the buckle (very important as I wear business attire often). Infinitely adjustable so I can IWB carry everything from a government 1911 to a single-stack micro gun with no compromise to fit. There is a simple lever on the buckle that you can easily activate one-handed so you can discreetly let out a few inches when you sit down, which is a HUGE capability I didn't know I needed until I had it. You can tighten it back up again when you stand up simply by pushing the belt back together and it just looks like you're pulling up your pants or tucking your shirt. The belt comes ridiculously long and you cut it down to the size your want before you attach the buckle. The sizes are clearly marked and the belt cut with a sharp pair of scissors. The buckle installs with a sort of claw lever and set screws and does not look hacked on at all because the installed buckle completely hides where you cut it. I've had other gun belts that seemed sturdier, but I couldn't wear them with some dress pants and they still wore out eventually. This is the sweet spot between stiffness and wear-ability. When you first start carrying a firearm, $60 seems like way more than you can ever justify spending on a belt, but once you wear a real gun belt the tremendous difference in comfort and stability will be worth it. Even if this belt only lasts me a year, that's $5 a month for a markedly better carry experience. Worth it. But I suspect this belt will last quite a while longer because the biggest reason I have to stop wearing a belt is because the crease/bend from weaving a belt through traditional buckles wears out the leather of the belt and the holes where you normally have it. Even if it still holds up, I can't wear a raggedly belt with a business attire. This belt won't have that same wear and tear at that one spot. As long as the ratchet mechanism and the teeth on the belt hold up, this should be good to go.

I make Kydex holsters for customers. It is important for me to have a good quality gun belt as I have to show customers that having one that is quality made is very important in wearing a new Kydex holsterI liked the belt at first but then after a couple of months it started showing signs of wear on some of the edge of belt and after another couple or so months it has started coming apart. In other words it is starting to split into two pieces also like some plastic started breaking down. The buckle is fine and quality made. I am hoping that I can get a replacement as it has been less then a year that I have had it. The breaking down of the material and the split started happening after somewhere around 4 months or so. Things cost so much now that I hope that Blade-Tech is going to take care of me. I have heard a lot of good things about the company so I am hoping that I can add a good review myself as I only want the best for the company and to just feel like I am getting my moneys worth in my purchase of the belt.

Having read some of the other reviews and shopping around I selected the this ratcheting belt as my carry belt because I am a man who is of very slight build, my thin frame often makes finding a belt that can fit me comfortably a challenge in itself, let alone one that can do so while retaining a firearm. This belt does both stylishly and comfortably. So lets go over what I'm running and what kind of conditions my belt needs to retain my firearm in: firstly my carry firearm of choice is a 7 shot 357 magnum with a 4 inch barrel sometimes worn inside the waistband sometimes worn on an OWB strong side holster this gun weighs in at around 2lbs without ammo in it. I load 158 grain JHP self defense loads so it's probably sitting at just over 2 as I carry it, I also ride my motorcycle most places so having a belt that won't flex with my firearm on it is important. After opening the small package and reading the instructions I cut the belt as instructed to about 4 inches larger than my waistline and test fitted it on the last ratchet it fit perfect with my firearm and I still have room to cut more if I need to. I have seen a lot of people taking issue with the excess belt not being able to be retained through a loop like a traditional belt, however I carry a revolver and a speed loader so if I simply put my speed loader on the other side it does this for me. Very satisfied with the product so far and look forward to daily use.

I previously bought another so-called tactical belt with the standard buckle. It was difficult to fasten and unfasten as well as to get tight. This one in comparison with the ratcheting action is very easy and highly adjustable. I have no issues getting it very tight either. As a bonus the width of this fit my holster perfectly versus the other one which was extra wide. This one seems to be about the size of a standard fashion belt. Also it doubles as a fashion belt (leather version) so unlike with these tactical belts it isn't obvious that you are carrying. I did take a star off because the release mechanism is a bit difficult. I would only take half a star off if I had the option but I don't. So consider this a 4.5 star review. The reason being if the release is too easy then it is also easy for it to be accidentally triggered too. So this isn't all that bad.

Let's see how long this lasts. No news is good news! I'll update the review when it fails!

Update: two years later I just had to resize the belt because I lost a good amount of weight. Belt is still working very well, I'm impressed! Bumping review up to five stars. This was definitely one of my better purchases on Amazon!

I put off buying a gun belt for both concealed and open carry of firearms. I researched products and came to this gun belt. I'm so very happy I waited to find this one. On receipt, and use, I discovered that this belt is fantastic. I've never had a carry belt before. This one is perfect. It holds any firearm without sagging. It is adjustable in 1/4" increments and easily readjusted, either direction, while wearing. I cannot imagine any improvements on this product. Buy it. You'll see...
