The Balaclava is very warm. The hood has a great lining so no wind goes through. The reason for the 4 stars is when the mast is not in use and is below the chin, it is quite tight. But maybe it will stretch with use.

We had exceptionally cold weather and wind in December. Luckily, I had ordered this face mask/neck cover. I could go out with the dog or shovel snow and my face, head, and neck were kept cozy. A feature I especially like about this item, is that the face covering can be adjusted so that it goes up to the eyes leaving only a slit to see out of keeping my face out of the cold wind. The hat portion is warm and soft but isn't tight against the head so my hair did not get matted down as in most winter caps. Definitely worth the price!
